Palm Beach Waterfront Condo

Problem:

Bring a dated Palm Beach postwar apartment up to standard to house a vast collection of modern art.

Solution:

In a small-scale postwar oceanfront building with challenging ceiling heights, we created a more open plan to celebrate views of the sea. This was achieved with a series of strategically placed, larger-scale walls to accommodate the owner’s impressive modernist art collection. As the low ceiling heights posed a challenge to incorporate lighting and protection from the sun, a new millwork wall containing lighting and motorized screens curves before it intersects with the ceiling providing a place for housing the screens without lowering the ceiling. Architecture, art, and design are seamlessly integrated.
